Code Of Conduct
Watson Road Elementary
Our Code of Conduct is based on the Golden Rule: treat others the way you would like to be treated. We also use the Code of Conduct to encourage safety, to look after the facility, and to create a suitable environment for learning.
EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENTS
4 Display courtesy, cooperation and consideration for others.
4 Work hard, do your best, keep commitments, and tell the truth.
4 Use common sense and good judgement before you act.
4 Preserve safety, and watch out for the feelings of others.
RULES FOR BEHAVIOUR
4 Walk and act safely on the way to and from school and at the bus stops.
4 No cycling, boarding, blading or scootering on the school grounds.
4 Don’t interfere with other people’s bikes or possessions.
4 Knives or other weapon like objects can not be brought to school.
4 Play fairly, be gentle, use good sportsmanship, and avoid arguments during games.
4 Any behavior which is rough and can hurt others is not permitted. Fighting, including playfighting, is not allowed.
4 Play tag and chase only on the main field, never on concrete, asphalt, or the adventure playground.
4 Tackle football or rugby is not allowed on the playing field.
4 Bullying, including name calling, hurting, threatening, spreading rumors, or excluding others is not allowed.
4 Bring bullying into the open-- report bullying to an adult.
4 Gum is not allowed at school, and spitting is not permitted.
4 Litter must be placed in the garbage barrels.
4 If you make a mess, clean it up. Help others to clean up too.
4 Stay out of other classrooms or schoolrooms unless you are given permission to enter these areas.
4 No entry before the bell or on breaks without permission.
4 Makeup, wearing hats inside, or inappropriate clothing is not permitted.
4 Use respectful language without swearing or vulgar remarks.
4 Keep a quiet voice in the hallways, and walk quietly between rooms.
